I'm looking for a bank to open an account, but I'm Brazilian and I don't have a Social Security Number.
Can I open a checking account at TD Bank in New York?

Hi Eduardo, thanks for connecting with us on TD Helps. We're pleased to hear you're considering TD Bank for your financial needs and will be glad to help!
We'd like to begin by inviting you to take a look at the different types of Checking accounts that TD Bank offers: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0. We also suggest looking at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU which will give you a personalized recommendation. Additionally, you may view the Savings accounts we currently offer by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 or if you prefer, we also have a Savings selector tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM; which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
To open an account with us it would be necessary to visit a TD Bank location. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to view a listing of our TD locations. When visiting a TD Store, you'll need to bring two forms of identification with you. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
Please give us a call 24/7 at 1-856-751-9000 or via collect with operator's assistance from a non- mobile phone at 1-215-569-0518 if you have any questions. Additionally, although it is not required, we do recommend contacting the TD Store you intend to visit ahead of time to confirm if any additional documentation may be necessary to open the account prior to your visit.
We hope this helps, Eduardo and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
