Hi Dieter, thanks for joining us here on TD Helps.
Cards bearing the Visa logo are accepted at locations all over the world. You should be able to make purchases and cash advances anywhere that Visa is accepted. Please check out our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 39 and 40, you can find information regarding Visa Debit Card limits. We encourage you to carry more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.
Your Visa Debit Card is convenient, secure and rewarding- so you can shop and bank with confidence. You can use your debit card at millions of locations that accept Visa across the globe. For few a tips to manage your money when traveling please check out: http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy, you may also want to review our international travel tips frequently asked questions by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1ltwDDc.
Before traveling, we do recommend placing a Travel Notification on your checking and/or savings account before you leave. To place a travel notification, you can call our Customer Service Line 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or by visiting your local TD Bank Store. For a listing of TD Bank Stores and hours check http://bit.ly/TDStores. If you are setup for online banking, another option would be to send a secured message using www.tdbank.com and request the Travel Notifications be added to your account. To send a secured message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq . On the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”. Please include your travel destination(s) and travel dates. If you are not enrolled for online banking, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY . You will need your Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, his account number, and his e-mail address. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you need to call us while you're outside the United States you may do so by dialing 856-751-9000 or collect with operator's assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 215-569-0518.
Hope you have a great trip and let us know if you have any other questions.
