Welcome to the TD Helps community, Derricka. We’ll be glad to help you with the details you will need to start the process of how to open an account.
The documents that you will need to open the account are the following: Your Social Security number and ID (driver's license, State ID, or Passport).
Here at TD Bank, we offer a variety of Checking and Savings accounts and invite you to take a look at our accounts prior to visiting a TD Bank Store. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1qinyzu or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
To open a Checking account, you may apply Online by visiting www.tdbank.com. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit. To open the account over the phone, you may call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 and you will have up to 30 business days to make your initial deposit. Finally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store to open an account. If you choose this option, you will need to make an initial deposit to the account you selected. There would not be a minimum requirement to open the account; however, some accounts have requirements in order to have certain fees waived. We would encourage you to review the link above prior to visiting a Store. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores .
Thanks again for considering us. Let us know if you have any further questions!
