As we're unsure what external transfer options Bank of America is currently offering, we're unable to provide any advice for your friend. We recommend that he reach out to Bank of America directly to inquire into what his options may be to send funds to outside banks.
If you have an active checking account and debit card with us and enroll in Send Money, you have the option to request funds from your friend. If his bank participates in ClearXchange and he also has an active checking account and debit card, he should be able to complete your request. You'll send the request using his email address or phone number. He'll just need to follow the instructions that come with the text or email. If he has any trouble at all, he should contact his bank for help in completing the request.
If you haven't enrolled in Send Money yet, it can easily be done through your online or mobile banking. To begin, log in by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Select the 'Send Money' tab and ensure the email address shown is correct. You'll then need to accept the Terms and Conditions. If you sign up for this service with your mobile number, select text or call to receive a verification code. If you sign up using your email we'll send you a verification code by email. Be sure you have mobile notifications enabled for TD Bank. If you sign up with your email and don't receive the verification code, please check your e-mail spam folder. You'll then need to enter the code to verify your email address or mobile number. We'll show your accounts that are eligible for Instant Transfer. Just choose the one you wish to use and you can go forward requesting funds from your friend.
