Good afternoon, Stephanie.
It's great to hear from you today, and we appreciate you bringing your question to TD Helps. We'll be happy to provide you with all the information you may need to open an account for both your children!
Here at TD Bank, when a new deposit account has been opened, such as a Checking or a Savings account, a deposit will not need to need to be immediately credited. However, please know that some accounts do have a monthly maintenance fee that may be assessed should the balance not be met.
If you haven't already done so, we'd like to take a moment to go over the different type of deposit accounts available at TD Bank. We first offer Checking accounts, and you may check out the link here: https://go.td.com/2eeLrai to learn more. If you were interested in opening a Savings account, we have also provided this link: https://go.td.com/2i05s3b that includes additional information.
If you're having trouble deciding, as you mentioned that you'd like to open two accounts for your children, we'd like to recommend that you speak with a Customer Service Representative at your nearest TD Store location. Not only will they be happy to help you make a decision on the best account for you and your children, but they can also assist you with successfully opening your new accounts.
To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Before your visit, it's important to note that for a Representative to successfully open your new accounts, you will need to provide a valid form of I.D., such as a State License, State ID, or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate, or Social Security Card.
We can't wait to have you as part of our TD family, Stephanie, and we hope you have a fantastic weekend!
