Welcome to TD Helps, Susan. We'd be glad to help!
You are able to deposit a Canadian check into your TD Bank US account, however a foreign check will need to be deposited with a Teller by visiting any TD Store. We invite you to review some helpful information we have listed below before making this deposit.
Please know that your deposit of a foreign check to TD, the international check must have an equivalent value of at least $100.00 U.S. Dollars.
Rates used for currency conversion are provided by TD Bank traders. We do not use rates printed by third parties in newspapers or published online.
For your protection, the item should be hand delivered to a Store and not mailed. Please do not deposit foreign checks by using the ATM or via Mobile Deposit.
The conversion rate applied will be on the day the check is received in the Foreign Check Collection Department. Additionally, fees may apply for the deposit of a foreign item. Please take a look at our current Fee Schedule here: http://go.td.com/1cTejgt.
If you've decided on opening an account, we recommend taking a look at the accounts we have to offer. We encourage you to review our checking accounts here: http://go.td.com/1oXjGgF and our Savings accounts here: http://go.td.com/1hzzhPT.
If you need help choosing the best accounts for your needs, we offer a Checking and Savings Selector Tools found here: https://go.td.com/1vW1xnUand here: https://go.td.com/1vW1DvM.
Once you've decided on an account you'd like to open, you are able to do so by calling us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or if you're planning a trip to the East Coast, visit any TD Store. You are able to take a look at TD Stores you'd like to visit by using our Store Locator here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Please know regardless of the method you choose, you will need a Social Security Number and a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.).
We hope this helps, Susan. Have a good day.
