Hi Daniel. Thanks for reaching out to us.
We think it's great that you're helping your brother and we'd be happy to direct you.
We'd like to make you aware that if your brother can call our 24 Hour Customer Service Line, we'd be happy to bring a Portuguese translator on the line with us so that we may assist him. He can call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. If he has any difficulty calling 800 numbers from Brazil, he can use country code 011 and call 856-751-9000 or call us collect with operator assistance from a landline at 215-569-0518.
If his account is already at a zero balance, we can close the account out for him over the phone at the number above. If his account is not yet at zero, we recommend removing all remaining funds from the account through an ATM withdrawal or by cash advance with a teller at a bank in Brazil. Once the account is brought to a zero balance, he can simply call us at that number and we'd be happy to request account closure for him.
If he'd prefer, he can also request to have the balance mailed to him in the form of an official check. To do this, he will need to send a signed and notarized letter to his home store detailing his request. Be sure to include a mailing address for check and final statement. To find the address for his home Store, he can use our Store locator here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
If you or your brother have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call at the number above. We'd be happy to help.
We hope you and your brother have a great weekend!
