Thanks for stopping by TD Helps, Sheryl. It's so nice to hear your daughter will be studying abroad! It's a great experience to have and we'll be happy to let you both know how she can travel with ease.
First, as your daughter will be in Ireland, we recommend that she contacts us at least one week before her trip with her travel information, including the location(s) she plans to visit and the dates. She can do so by calling our Customer Service Line directly at 888-751-9000, and we will be happy to place the travel notification for her.
If your daughter has a TD Bank Visa Debit card, she'll be able to use the card for purchases wherever Visa is accepted, and at any VISA or PLUS ATM location worldwide. Please ensure that the Visa logo is present on her card.
Please note that TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees at this time for purchases made with a TD Bank Visa Debit card. We would like to take the opportunity to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs.
Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made. Please check out: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for information on our current Fee Schedule. This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
If an ATM is used in a foreign country, international, currency exchange and usage fees can also be incurred regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 41-45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
If you find that you have any questions, give us a call 24/7 at the number listed above, or stop in at any of our Store locations which can be found here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If we can be of any help to your daughter during her trip, she may take note of these methods to contact us. She can send a message after logging in to her online account at www.tdbank.com for help, by clicking on the Customer Service tab and finding the link to Send a Message. She may also contact us from outside the United States by phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. We are available 24/7 for our Customer's convenience.
We hope this is useful information, Sheryl and feel free to contact us with any questions you or your daughter may have. We hope she has a safe trip and enjoys her stay!
