I am selling my home, and the sale is being held up because I never received a discharge on a line of credit I took out in 2001. I've faxed information to the mortgage release department, but the buyer's attorney is requiring evidence that the account is no longer active before we can close. The mortgage was originally to First Massachusetts Bank, and my local TD branch can't even find evidence of the loan on their system.

Thanks for writing in today, Carolyn. We'll be sure to point you in the right direction for further assistance.
We would like to be able to assist you with this directly however, as TD Helps is considered an unsecure forum, we are unable to access personal or account information. With that being said, we ask that you contact our Financial Solutions Group 24/7 at 888-751-9000. Our Specialists will be able to look into this further for you.
We look forward to hearing from you, Carolyn and hope you have a great day.
