Good evening, Dennis and thanks for connecting with us! We'll be glad to let you know how you can prepare for your trip.
If you plan to travel, we recommend contacting us with your travel information to prevent any decline to your cards while you're away. You can do so by calling our Customer Service Line 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we will be happy to place your travel notification. If you have already left and you're now outside the country, please call us from outside the United States via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
Another easy way to set a travel notification, especially if you have already left, is to send us a Secure Message from your TD Bank Online Banking account. Please log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq with your User Name and Password. You can then send us a secure message by clicking on the Customer Service tab, and using the Send a Message link. Please include your exact travel dates, destinations and any connecting flight information if applicable.
TD Bank does not charge any foreign transaction fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card. We would like to take the opportunity to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using other banks' ATMs.
Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made (fees subject to change). This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. Please check out: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt for information about the type of accounts needed to avoid non-TD ATM fees.
If you have one of these account types, we suggest keeping your foreign ATM transaction receipts. We want to make sure you are properly reimbursed for your fees! If your non-TD ATM fees are not automatically refunded to you, you can take these receipts to your local TD Bank store within 90 days for an immediate credit.
If you would like to use your TD Bank Visa Credit Card while traveling, please call 888-561-8861 to place your travel notification 24/7 with a TD Card Services Representative. To reach TD Bank Card Services from an international location, please use the toll-free collect number 706-644-3266.
Please keep in mind, a travel notification helps us recognize unauthorized transactions on your account. Please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu.
