I was in the process of looking for a life insurance company and I was told that I have to go to my bank. Is that true?

Hi Netza! Thanks for reaching out to us.
While we appreciate you coming to us for Life Insurance, you are not required to purchase it through us. But we hope you do anyway!
We encourage you to check out what we're currently offering in Life Insurance options by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2pOrrP2. You'll see our Term, Whole, and Single Premium plans side by side to compare them and find the right plan for you. You can even apply online for our Term Life Insurance!
On that page, we recommend scrolling down to check out the links we have under 'Insurance Tools, Education and Resources'. Especially our FAQs at https://go.td.com/2jbYUEb, that answers many common Life Insurance related questions. Then we have a Life Insurance calculator here: http://bit.ly/2eLdtta that helps estimate how much insurance you may need.
If you have any questions at all or would like to discuss your options, we invite you to come in to see us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
We hope this helps, Netza! Don't hesitate to reach out to us here, by phone at 888-751-9000, or in any of our Stores. We hope you have a great weekend!
