Dear Madam/ Sir
I am writing to ask some questions about how to close my account.
Currently I have money in it and I left the country. Since I intended to come back I didn't close my account, but recently I decided to stay in my home country and not coming back to the US.
I would like to transfer all my money to my boyfriends account (that is still staying in the US) and close my account.
How can I do this? Do I have to write a letter giving power to my boyfriend to do this actions for me?

We'd like to let you know that you can still bank with us, even while you're abroad! We have some options for you to complete your banking without the need to visit a TD Bank Store. Please note that we offer fully featured Online and Mobile Banking services and live telephone support available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year by dialing 856-751-9000 or via collect by asking the operator to dial 00+1-215-569-0518 from a non-mobile telephone.
If you are not currently enrolled for Online Banking, you can sign up by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY, if you have a TD Bank Visa Debit Card or ATM number, and a US Social Security number. If not, you're more than welcome to contact us directly at the number listed above for assistance with enrollment.
Once you're enrolled, you're welcome to use this service to help you keep track of your account, and you can even communicate with us whenever you'd like using our Secure Messaging service available once you log in. To do so, please log in at our full website here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq, click on the Customer Service tab, and the use the Send a Message link to talk with us about your account questions or requests.
If you still choose to close your account, we understand and can share some instructions with you to do so. As you mentioned in your inquiry that you'd like to deposit the funds into your boyfriend's account, you may do so by using our Person-to-Person payment service. This service is offered via our online banking. Our Person-to-Person Payment service provides flexible ways to send and receive money to and from any other individual's bank account within the United States. It is simple and secure, with several delivery options.
In order to be eligible to use the Person-to-Person payment service, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a TD Bank Checking or Money Market account for the transfer. Please also note that Person-to-Person payment will only allow you to transfer funds from your TD Bank Account to any other individual's bank account within the United States.
There are two delivery options: three business day and next business day delivery. Please note that the next day delivery option is not available for savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days. Once your account balance reaches zero, you may close your account in few different ways. You may send a secured message through online banking or contact us at the telephone number listed above to have one of our Banking Specialists close the account. To send a secured message, please sign into your account and click on the Customer Service tab and then select Send a Message. Please keep in mind that it can take up 2-3 business days for your account to be closed.
