In reply to Tammy, Chelsea
We appreciate you reaching out to us, Tammy. We understand that banking needs can change and we'll be able to advise you.
If you're looking to close an account you have with us, before you go, we'd like to let you know that we are committed to your satisfaction as a Customer. We have many options to keep your banking convenient for you and we'd be glad to discuss your experience and needs with us at a TD Store. We're available near you and would like to hear from you. You're welcome to find your closest Store and lobby hours here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you still choose to close your account, if you have a Personal account with a remaining balance, we'd recommend visiting any TD Bank Store near you to withdraw the funds and request that the account be closed. Please visit the above link to find a convenient location for you.
If you'd rather use an online transfer to move your funds, the option is available via our Transfers service.
If you are already enrolled for Online Banking, please log in here http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After logging onto your account, please choose the "Transfers" tab. Then click on "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement and review the fee schedule.
After the enrollment is completed, you may continue to schedule a transfer by adding your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes. You’re welcome to check out http://bit.ly/1jXKYqq for additional details.
When sending an External Transfer, you will have two delivery options, three-day or next-day delivery. Please note that the next-day delivery option becomes available 90 days after your first successful three-day transfer if no overdrafts have occurred in that time. Additionally, fees may apply for External Transfer service. For the Transfers Terms and Conditions please see: http://bit.ly/1lkiC6K, and for more information on the fee schedule, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Please note that once the funds have been removed, it would be necessary to contact us to request to close the account. Once the balance is zero, you can give us a call at 888-751-9000, 24/7 to place your request. Or, you can send a Secured Message by logging in to your online banking account and clicking the Customer Service tab. You`ll find the Send a Message link there and just fill in the form with your account number and request to close the account.
Another easy way to close an account that has a balance is via mailed written request. You may request to close your account and have any available money in your account be sent to you by check. You can mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your account number(s)
▪Your request to close the account(s)
▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A
Your Home Store's Address or,
P.O. Box 1377
You're also welcome to check with your other banking institution for any options they may be able to provide you for a transfer.
For any questions you may have, feel free to connect with us 24/7 at the number above, or at any TD Bank Store nearby you.
We hope these are helpful options, Tammy and we look forward to speaking with you soon. Take care and have a great one.
Kristen P, Mount Laurel
