I found a check that is greater than 1 yr old and I wanted to check to see if it is a valid check or a replacement had already been issued.

Thanks for joining us here on TD Helps, Raquel. We are more than happy to answer your question here.
If you are referring to a check which was issued to you by others, and you still have the physical check with you, please know that generally speaking, checks that are more than 6 months old are considered staledated. If your check is drawn on TD Bank and is staledated, it's possible that it might still be negotiated by the Bank. However, some business checks have an expiration date (payroll checks, government checks, etc.), which limits or extends the time period when the checks can be cashed or deposited.
We can suggest that you visit a local TD Bank Store so that we can verify the account status and check for any stop payment orders on your check. Please see http://bit.ly/TDStores for a listing of our Stores near you for assistance. Please kindly keep in mind that in the instance a deposited check is returned, fees may apply. We recommend reviewing http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to ensure you are aware of this possibility before depositing the check.
Also, you may prefer to contact the person or company who wrote you the check to determine if a new one can be reissued to you.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
Let us know if you have any other banking questions. Have a fabulous Sunday!
