In reply to Thomas, Bellingham
Good morning, Thomas and thank you for reaching out to us on TD Helps.
As you're 12 years old, you may consider opening a joint account with your parent. Joint accounts can be opened in person at any TD Bank Store location, during lobby hours. Please keep in mind that all account holders must be present for the account opening process. Please look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a Store listing with contact information in your area.
We encourage you to review our Checking Accounts here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Account Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU to find an account which suits your needs. To view and compare personal Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM; which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
When you and your parent are ready to visit a Store, your parent will need his/her Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. Acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card.
Please note that a Visa Debit card can be issued if a Checking account is opened and an ATM only card can be issued for a Savings account. As you're a minor, in order to get a TD Visa debit card in your name, it will require your parent's consent and the Store manager's discretion. For this reason, we strongly recommend that your parent contact your preferred Store prior to your visit to ensure that they'll be able to help you with this request.
Thanks again for writing in, Thomas. Have a good one and hope to see you soon!
