I recently ordered an item from a company, and asked them to cancel the order, all within a few hours. Do I need to wait for them to cancel the order for the money to be back in my account, or is there something I need to do now to get it back?

Hi Brandon, thanks for joining us on TD Helps.
If the merchant processes a refund to your TD Bank Visa debit card, it usually takes 3-5 business days to be credited to your account. Please note, there are times when the funds may take longer to be credited to your account, as the refund is based on when we receive notice from the merchant. If you have any further questions about your credit in particular, you may connect with us 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
Rather than waiting the 3-5 business days for your refund, if the transaction is currently in Pending status, you can have the funds released sooner if the merchant faxes a letter to us on their letterhead to the attention of Fulfillment at 1-856-533-1138. They need to include the following:
1. Date of authorization
2. Your full debit card number
3. The exact amount debited
4. A brief statement from a representative expressing that they authorize the hold to be released.
If the transaction has already been posted to your account, you may contact the merchant directly to determine when the funds will be refunded. Please note; because of the Merchant Return Policy, it is recommended contacting the merchant first to determine the possibility of refunds.
You can also keep track of a transaction to see if it has been posted to your account logging into your Online Banking. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. If you have not enrolled in Online Banking, you can do so for free by following this link: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, your email address and your current TD ATM/Debit card. If you run into any problems enrolling with Online Banking, please call us 24/7 at the number mentioned above.
If you're referring to a credit on your TD Visa Credit Card, we encourage you to contact one of our TD Card Services Specialists directly 24/7 at 888-561-8861.
You're also more than welcome to visit any TD Bank Store to review your account for the credit during lobby hours. Please look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a listing of hours and locations.
Again, thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
