Dear sir/madam, I am sending this inquiry on behalf of a Japanese friend, who does not possess enough English proficiency to arrange these matters. The person (Sumie, currently in Japan) still has a checking account at TD bank (Calgary First Street branch). The account may now be dormant. She would like to transfer the TD checking account money to her Japanese bank account. How can she arrange this? Thank you in advance. Isabel

Thanks for writing in on behalf of our Customer, Isabel! That's so nice of you and we'll be glad to advise you both.
In your message you mentioned that your friend banks with TD Bank in Calgary, which is our partner bank, TD Canada Trust. As you've reached TD Bank here in the United States with your inquiry, we invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/18DN4YI as our friend Renae from up north has answered a similar question that may provide some help. We also recommend that your friend reach a TD Canada Trust agent directly at http://bit.ly/1woOVay to determine if the account is dormant and to obtain any options in that instance.
We hope this helps you both get started, Isabel. Any questions feel free to reply to post as listed above and take care.
