Is there any way to transfer money directly from my account to my sons account? They are not linked together.
Would the best option be to open a joint account so it shows up as an account I can transfer to on my transfers page as well as his?

Thanks for joining us on the TD Helps community! We'll be glad to go over transfer options with you.
You do have the option of either opening a joint account or being added to your son's account (or add him to yours) to complete a transfer from the "Transfer" tab via Online Banking. It isn't completely necessary to do so as we have another option that may be helpful for you, if you have a personal account. You may also complete a "Person-to-Person transfer by selecting the “Person-to-Person” Tab to enroll in this feature. This feature will allow you to transfer from your TD account to someone else's account either at TD or any other bank in the United States! For the Terms and Conditions, in addition to information on the payment methods and amounts please check http://bit.ly/1pADlWD.
New users and new accounts will only have the 3-day delivery speed option until the 90 day eligibility requirements have been met for the 1-day delivery option. For any fees that may be associated with this transfer please see our fee schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
If Person-to-Person transfers are not an option for you or you have a TD Business Checking account, you could make a deposit by visiting a TD Bank location with cash and your son's account number. Please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores to find the TD Bank location closest to you. Another way to make a deposit would be to make a check payable to your son and write “for deposit only” with his account number on the back of the check. Regardless of the option you choose, the deposit can be processed with a Teller in the Lobby or Drive-thru at any TD Bank location. When making the deposit directly into the other account, there is no charge to you.
If you have additional questions please let us know by giving us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000, visiting a TD location or submitting a new inquiry to us here on TD Helps.
We hope this information is helpful for you and have a wonderful day.
