Thanks for sending us your question today, Rick.
If you are able to log onto your Online Banking, you can change your user name and password simply by selecting the "Customer Service" tab; located at the top of your screen. Select the link that states, "Change User Name" at the top of the first column. Please note that this change will be immediate after you click "Submit". You'll see a similar link on the "Customer Service" tab stating "Change Password" as well.
If you remember your user name, but have forgotten your password, you may reset your password through our self-service option by following this link: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Once you’re at the Log In page, please click on the “Trouble Logging In” link that is located under the password. Select the account type and input your User Name. You will then be asked to answer two security questions, after successfully answering the security questions, you will be able to reset your password. When creating your new password, here a few tips we can share with you:
Use a combination of numbers, letters and special characters, but no spaces
Your password should be unique. Memorize it and do not disclose it to anyone else
Avoid using names, dates or numbers tied to your identity (such as birthday, family name, pets, street, etc.)
Use a password that differs from your other banking, email and social media accounts. Change it periodically, ideally every 90 days
If you do not recall your username or if you're unable to provide the information necessary, it's okay. You can call us directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with one of our Banking Specialists. After account verification, we would be happy to help reset your user name and password. Also, you can visit us at any local TD Bank Store, during lobby hours for assistance. For hours and locations near you, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We appreciate your visit, Rick and take care.

Alara, can you have Tech Support address Rick's core question since it is the same problem I have every few days? Thank you.
Yesterday I found out from one of your colleagues that the TD online banking system does not reset the login attempt counter each time you successfully login, but rather it accumulates the failed attempts until manually reset. This may explain some cases of unexpected messages:
Sorry, your log in information does not match our records.
You have exceeded the number of log in attempts allowed. To access your accounts, click the Reset Password button below and reset your password in four easy steps.
However, it seems that many times this message appears even when correctly entering the right password, on smart phone or other devices such as laptop or desktop PC. Any clues from Tech Support on how to fix this ?

Hi C. Thanks for joining the conversation.
We're sorry to hear that you're frequently being locked out as well. The TD Bank Online Banking system should not be requesting that your password be reset unless the password has been entered incorrectly several times and it's been locked. We recommend ensuring that you are entering the correct username, as failed login attempts in the system for your password would be tracked under the username you entered.
If you're certain that you've entered the password correctly, we recommend confirming that the Caps Lock isn't on. Passwords are case sensitive and we've found that a common issue is the Caps Lock being left on or hit accidentally.
If you've confirmed this is not the case and you're still having the same problem, we recommend giving our Tech Support Team a call so we can troubleshoot this for you. We're available 24/7 at 800-493-7562. You may also stop in to see us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
We hope to get this resolved for you soon. Have a good day, C.

Thanks for joining in on the conversation today, Carrie!
We sincerely apologize that you're having trouble remembering your password, and we'll be more than happy to help.
As our friend Alara mentioned above, we currently offer a self-service feature, which allows you to reset your password for instances such as these! To access this feature, you may use the link here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq, and after doing so, click on the blue hyperlink that reads 'Forgot your password'. From here, you'll first want to select your account type, personal or business. If personal, you will be prompted to enter in your Username, followed by the last four digits of your Social Security Number; however, if this is in reference to your business account, you will need to include your Username and the last four digits of your Tax ID Number.
Next, you'll need to answer all three of the Security Questions that you selected during your enrollment, and if you're successful in doing so, you'll be able to change your password immediately!
If you have any trouble, or if you can't remember the answers to your Security Questions, you're welcome to connect with us directly, and we'll be happy to help!
Banking Specialists can be reached by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000, and for your convenience, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You would also have the option of visiting your nearest TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope you found this information helpful, Carrie!
Thanks again for stopping by, and have a great start to your new year!
