Thank you for reaching out to TD Helps, David! We'll be glad to point you in the right direction in regard to placing a stop payment on a bill payment check.
If you would like to stop a bill pay check or a paper check you issued, please note that it can only be stopped if your payee has not yet presented this check for payment.
To better assist you, we recommend giving us a call 24/7 to speak with a Customer Service Representative at 888-751-9000. Our Representatives would be happy to assist you in placing stop payments upon account verification.
You may also place a stop payment via Online Banking. To request a stop payment online, you will need to first log on to your online banking. If you have personal TD accounts and are signed up for our Retail online banking, please check here http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. If you are a TD Bank BusinessDirect user, please direct your browser to http://bit.ly/1rvBmq8. On the left hand side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center."
Depending on your Checking account type, there may be a fee applied for a stop payment. Please note; fees are subject to change. Please visit: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our fee schedule.
In addition, you may also stop by your nearest TD Bank Store location to request the stop payment request in person. To find out TD store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps and enjoy the day, David!
