Good morning, Jennifer, and welcome to TD Helps.
We're sorry to hear that you'll be closing your TD Bank account, but we understand. There are a few ways in which you are able to close your account, and we'll be happy to provide you with all your options so that you may choose the one that is most convenient for you.
The first option you have is to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. By doing so, you can request to have your account closed as long as it does not reflect a negative balance. You're welcome to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest TD Store location, as well as their lobby hours.
If your account has a balance, and you're unable to visit a TD Store location, you would also have the option of sending TD Bank a written, signed, and notarized request to the following address:
TD Bank, N.A.
Your home Store address
Your home Store's telephone number
If you're unsure of your home Store location, you're more than welcome to call and speak with one of our knowledgeable Banking Specialist by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000. For your convenience, our Banking Specialists are here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your account currently holds a zero dollar balance, you're also welcome to call and speak with a Banking Specialist in regard to having your account closed.
Another option you have if your account has a zero dollar balance is to send your request via a secure message. Sending a secure message is easy, and can be completed right from your online banking.
To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
In your message, please be sure to include your request, as well as any account number(s) you wish to have closed as this information will be needed to proceed.
Just in case you may be interested in closing a credit card you hold with TD Bank, and not a deposit account, you're welcome to call and speak with one of our Credit Card Specialist directly. Specialists can be reached by simply dialing 888-561-8861, and for your convenience are available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We sincerely hope this helps, and please let us know if we can answer any additional questions for you, Jennifer.
Take care, and enjoy your weekend!
