I need to cancel my student checking & savings account which my debit card is connected to. I already have a new checking account, but I need to know how to connect my debit card to the new account.

Good morning, Jessica!
Welcome to TD Helps.
It sounds as though you have recently replaced your Checking and Savings accounts with new accounts, and are now looking to have those accounts added to your active debit card. If this is the case, we'll be more than happy to help, and would like to recommend that you connect with us directly so that we may first successfully link your new accounts to your debit card.
You have a couple different options when looking to connect with one of our Specialist, and we invite you to take advantage of whichever method is the most convenient for you.
First, you're welcome to call and speak with one of our Banking Specialists, who for your convenience, are available to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by simply dialing 1-888-751-9000. You're also welcome to visit a TD Store location, during lobby hours, to speak with a Customer Service Representative. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
If you're unable to call or visit a Store location, we understand, and would like to recommend that you then send us a secure message. To send a secure message, you will first want to log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'.
If you have downloaded our mobile banking app for your smartphone, you may also use this method to send a secure message. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We generally respond within 24 hours or less.
Once your new accounts have been successfully added to your debit card, and you're ready to close your old accounts, the method in which you may do so can vary depending on the current balance in your accounts.
If the balances are zero, when speaking with one of our Specialists, you may simply mention that you would like to close your old accounts, and they'll be more than happy to process your request for you! If your account has a balance, you may perform a transfer of the funds to your new account via your Personal Online Banking, or you may even speak with a Specialist about having these funds transferred for you.
In the event that you're going to make your account closure request via a secure message, be sure to include the account number(s) you wish to have closed in your message, as this information will be needed to proceed.
If you have any questions or concerns before closing your accounts or linking your new accounts to your debit card, please don't hesitate to connect with us at any of the methods mentioned above.
Thanks again for bringing your concerns to TD Helps, Jessica.
We hope you have a great weekend, and a safe and happy new year!
