Hello there Brendon,
Thank you for joining us today and we do have information for you if you need to close your account.
Before we provide these instructions, we'd like to take a moment just to remind you that we are very committed to the satisfaction of our Customers and if there's anything that we could do to change your mind, please let us know. We see that you're in Los Angeles. Please note that we have plenty of options for you to complete your banking without the need to visit our Stores - we offer fully featured Online and Mobile Banking services and live telephone support available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year by dialing 888-751-9000. You're welcome to reach us at that number if you'd like to review your account and options in particular.
With that being said, if you still choose to close your account, we understand and will provide you with information you'll need to do so.
In order to close your account, the account must be at a zero balance exactly. Since you're not in our area right now, if you're able to bring your account balance to zero, such as with your debit card, check, or by transfer, or if your account balance is already zero, then you can contact us by phone as above, or via Secure Message, to give us your account closure request.
To send a secure message, you must first log in to your TD Bank Online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Then, on the left side, you should see an option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center." Kindly include your account number and specific request when sending your note.
Or, if your account has remaining funds, as another option you can request to close your account in writing and any available money in your account be sent to you by check. You can mail a written request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to your home Store, or to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
Lewiston, Maine 04243-1377
Or, a listing of our TD Stores including their contact information and addresses can be found here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope one of these options will help, Brendon.
We look forward to speaking with you about this and best of luck in Los Angeles!
