I moved out to the west coast so there aren't any TD banks around here, so I need to cancel my account. However I still have money left in my account and I need to be able to get a cashier's check so that I can cancel my savings account.
Thank you !

Hi there Lea,
Good to see you today and we hope your move to the West coast went smoothly!
Even though you moved out of our footprint, we would like to take a moment to say that we'd hate to see you go. Please note that we have plenty of options for you to complete your banking without the need to visit our Stores - we offer fully featured Online and Mobile Banking services and live telephone support available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year by dialing 888-751-9000. You're welcome to reach us at that number if you'd like to review your account and options in particular.
With that being said, if you still choose to close your account, we understand and will provide you with information you'll need to do so.
Since it sounds like you prefer to have a check for the funds in your account, you're welcome to mail a written request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to your home Store, or to:
TD Bank, N.A
P.O. Box 1377
Lewiston, Maine, 04243-1377
If you prefer to mail this to your home Store, their contact information can be found at this link: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Once we receive and process your request, any available money in your account will be sent to you by Official check.
If you are able to remove the funds another way, for example, via the ATM or by transfer, you also have the option of contacting a friendly Banking Specialist by phone or secure message to request that the account be closed. Kindly note that in order to use this option, the balance in the account must be zero exactly. We can be reached 24/7 at the number above if you'd like to call in.
To send a secure message instead, please log in to your Online Banking account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and once logged in, visit the Customer Service tab. The Send a Message link will be available there for you to make your request.
We hope this options are helpful, Lea. If you have questions feel free to call in to us at the number above, or you can write us back here anytime!
We wish you the best of luck in California and take care.
