Thanks for coming to TD Helps with your question, Jessica!
You can most certainly open an account with us online and make your first deposit online as well; you may also make your initial deposit at any TD Bank location.
Take a look at our many different types of Checking accounts here: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool here http://bit.ly/KmmHe7 for help choosing a Checking account that is the best fit you. At TD Bank, we also offer Savings Accounts for all of your saving needs! We recommend taking a look at http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 for more detailed information on each particular Savings Account available. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector Tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1hXi2wF.
Once you have decided the type of the account you wish to open, you may visit www.tdbank.com or click here: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i to take you directly to the account opening application. You may also feel free to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new account via telephone.
If you choose to open your new accounts online, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Store to make a deposit.
There are 5 steps with series of questions you will need to fill in during this account opening process. The first step is the "Account Info", you will need to input the account type you are looking to open and whether you want a TD Debit Card or not. The second step is your "Personal Info". Here you will authenticate your identity so be sure your Social Security number and your Driver's license, State ID, or Passport are on hand for this step. Step three is the "Disclosures" where you will be requested to view and agree to the terms and conditions of the account type you've chosen. Step four is your "First Deposit". If you have a current account, whether it is with TD Bank or another institution, this is where you can transfer funds into the new account for the first deposit. Finally, step five is the "Finish" portion. Review your information and submit your application. If you run into any problems during the process or if you prefer, you could also give us a call at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Customer Service Representative. Our Representatives are available 24/7 and are ready to help answer any questions and open that account for you!
Additionally, you have the option of visiting us at your local TD Store to open an account and/or make your first deposit there as well with a Teller or at a TD ATM. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope that you find this useful and thanks for visiting us on TD Helps, Jessica!
