I am a dual US/Canadian citizen. I lived and worked in Canada for years before becoming a Florida resident. Shortly, I will start receiving Canadian pension checks, in Canadian $, that need to be direct deposited into a Canadian bank. I am interested in TD cross border banking but do not have a TD account on either side of the border. What is the best way to start. Closest US branch is over an hour drive. Can I set up both accounts on line? Do I have to go to a US branch to start? Can the US branch set up a Canadian account for me? etc, etc, etc

Thank you for considering TD for your banking needs on both sides of the border, Edward.
You may set up your new TD U. S. account directly online at: https://go.td.com/1ienPN4. If you prefer, you can also speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone. They can also answer any questions you may have about your cross border account.
To set up a new account with our affiliate, TD Canada Trust, we recommend submitting your inquiry on their TD Helps page here: https://go.td.com/1Ymzfmu.
Once you're a Customer of both TD Bank U.S. and TD Canada Trust, you can transfer funds between your U.S. TD account and your Canadian TD account by speaking with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line at the same telephone number listed above (press 1 for English, 2 for French) and this service is available to both U.S. and Canadian Customers 24/7. Upon proper verification, you will be able to request cross border transfers at free of charge.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, Edward. Cheers!
