I have my mother as a person who has access to my account but I would like to remove her. How do I do that?

Great question, Alexia. We'd be happy to review this with you.
Once an account is opened as a joint account, or if you opened an individual account and then later added a secondary signer, both individuals have equal rights and access to the account. This means that neither signer can be removed from the account, and if you do not wish to continue to share the account, it must be closed. Once the account is closed, each individual may open a new personal account to which the other will not have access to.
If you decide to open a new account, we currently offer many ways in which you can open a new account with TD Bank. You can open the account online by selecting the "Open Account" box located beneath each specific account by following this link: http://bit.ly/WrwMg7. You could also contact us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 and our Representatives will be happy to assist you with the account opening process. If you prefer, you may stop by any TD Store for further assistance on opening an Account. To find the nearest TD Bank Store please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you do not decide to open an account, you offer ways to close your account too. Similar to account opening, you are able to call the 24/7 number listed above to close an account as long as the account is either at a $0.00 balance or you are able to transfer any remaining funds to a separate account you have here with TD. You are also able to visit a TD Store during lobby hours to close your account regardless if there is a remaining balance or not.
If your account has a $0.00 balance and you do not have the opportunity to call or go in, you're welcome to send a Secure Message via your Online Banking account by logging it at http://bit.ly/1eaISlq by clicking the "Customer Service" tab. You'll find a link to "Send a Message," where you can enter your request. Please be sure to specify the account number you wish to close if you choose this method.
If you're not currently enrolled and would like to take advantage of this free service you may click here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Please have your account number, ATM/debit card number and Social Security Number available to complete the enrollment. The page will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to complete the process. If you have any questions please call us by using the number listed above or visit a TD Store.
Another option would be requesting your account to be closed by mail. Please mail your written, signed, and notarized request to:
TD Bank, N.A.
(Home Store Address)
(Home Branch Telephone Number)
Please be sure to provide your account number so we may issue you a check for the remaining funds in your account as well as your final statement. If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store, take a look at http://bit.ly/TDStores for hours and locations or please contact our Customer Service line at the telephone number listed above.
We apologize if this causes any inconvenience and have a good day, Alexia.
