My fiance and I split, I want to be removed from the account as I am moving out of state. There are no banks where I live nor where I am moving and do not wish to be accused of stealing his money.

Hi Alexis. Thanks for reaching out to us today.
We're very sorry to hear of your recent break up and would be happy to help with the joint account.
We're unable to remove signers from joint accounts, but you do have the option of closing the account. With both signers having 100% ownership over the account, only one is required to close the account.
If the balance is at zero, a quick phone call or secure message is all we need to close the account. Just give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000. As we mentioned, you may also send us your request by secure message through your online or mobile banking. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. From your Mobile Banking, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
If we close the account by phone or email request, it should be fully closed out in approximately 2-3 business days.
If there is a balance in the account or you would like it closed immediately, please stop in to see us at a local TD Bank Store. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc. Our Store Representatives can withdraw the total balance and close the account on the spot. If you would prefer that any remaining funds in the account do not go directly to you, but rather to your ex-fiancé, he may visit the store with you or an official check can be purchased that you may provide to him.
We hope this information helps, Alexis. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here, at the number above, or at any of our Stores.
We wish you all the very best on your move and fresh start. Take care!
