Currently have a checking account. I am trying to obtain free checking by switching to a TD 60 pluss account. Do I have to switch my account to obtain the free checking offered by 60 plus. If account has to switched what happens to my current direct deposits? I tried to this by phone but could not get to a person.

Good Morning, Alfred. We'd be happy to guide you in the right direction regarding your product type change.
We're happy to advise you that you may switch your account type at any time, as many times as you'd like, as long as the same product is kept (checking to checking, or savings to savings). Changing your account type does not affect your account number, or your direct deposit.
Please note that this account type has a daily balance requirement in order to waive a monthly maintenance fee. We invite you to view this link to learn more about the balance requirement: https://go.td.com/2tVNtki.
You may request your product type change via secure message, over the phone with a Representative, or at your local TD Bank Store. To send a secure message, you will need to log in to your Online Banking account. You may do so by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you have logged in, click on the 'Message Center', which can be found in the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. You may also send a secure message from your smartphone, on our app. From the app, you must log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu.
You may view this link: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc to find a TD Bank near you!
We're sorry you had trouble connecting with us. You may contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Representative.
We hope you find this information useful, Alfred. Have a nice day!
