Hello Jacoria, thank you for taking the time to visit us with your question.
There are two methods available on how to transfer funds from your account to a family or friend. It all depends on the amount you are looking to transfer and where it is going and we would be happy to provide the options for you.
If you are looking to transfer funds to someone who lives within the US, you may initiate a Person-to-Person transfer via your TD Online Banking. To use this feature, you must first be enrolled for Online Banking. If you have not done so yet, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Please have your account number, debit card number and Social Security number available. If you have any trouble signing up, please contact our Digital Banking Specialists, 24/7 at 800-493-7562 or feel free to visit us at any TD Store during lobby hours. For Store hours please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once you've successfully enrolled and after you log into your online account, please select the “Person-to-Person” tab to enroll for this specific feature (The “Person-to-Person” tab should show at the top of your page after logging into your TD Bank Online Banking. As long as you have a US address on file, you should be able to send funds using this option to another US account). You will then be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and the email address we have on file for you. Next, we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete, you’ll be ready to send the payment which the other person will receive in one business day or three business days as per your selection. Please note, to qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
This feature does come with limits on the amount you can send or receive. For the information on the payment methods and amounts, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (Pg 3. section1.16).
If the amount you are looking to transfer exceeds the limit available, you may wish to initiate a wire transfer. Information needed does vary depending on where the funds are going, within the US or internationally, and how the funds are being sent, it could be sent in US Dollars or Foreign Currency. We recommend getting in touch with the person expecting to receive the transfer for the wiring instructions needed. Once you have that information, please visit us during lobby hours at any TD Store to make this transaction.
With both methods available, fees may be applied. We invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, for more information on our fee schedule.
Let us know if you have any other questions, Jacoria and have a great day!
