Hey Terry, thanks for joining us here at TD Helps today.
There are a couple of options available to transfer from your TD US account to a US JP Morgan Chase account. One way is via your TD Online Banking by utilizing our Person-to-Person payment feature or our External Transfer feature.
The difference between the two transfers options depend on who you are sending funds to. If you are transferring from TD to an account you own with another Institution that would be our External Transfer. If you are transferring to a family or friend, that would be Person-to-Person payment. In order to be eligible to use our External Transfer service and our Person-to-Person Payment feature, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a TD Bank Checking or Money Market account for the transfer.
For the information on External Transfer and Person to Person Payments Services Terms and Conditions, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (specifically Pg. 3, Section 1.16 for information on the payment methods and Amounts).
To use these transfers, you just first log onto your TD Online Banking here: http://bit.ly/SMUhhl. If you have not enrolled, that is okay. Please click here to start: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security number and your email address. Once at the page, please select "Personal" from the drop down box. When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier and to create a user name and password. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you have questions regarding online transfers, you may contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help. You may also visit a TD Store in your area for help. For Store hours and locations near you please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Once you've successfully signed up, after logging onto your account, for External Transfers, please choose the "Transfers" tab. Then click on "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement and review the fee schedule.
After the enrollment is completed, you may continue to schedule a transfer by adding your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes. You’re welcome to check out: http://bit.ly/1jXKYqq for all of the exciting details.
If you choose to send an External Transfer, you will have two delivery options, three day or next day delivery. The next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful three day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
For Person-to-Person Payments, once you have logged into your Online Banking, you may click on the tab at the top of the page titled "Person-to-Person Payments." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement, review the fee schedule and confirm your email and phone number. A text and email code will be sent to the mobile number and email address we have on file for you. Next we will request you to submit both codes for verification to complete the enrollment process. Once the enrollment is complete you’ll be ready to send the payment!
You will have two delivery options when sending a Person-to-Person payment; there is the three business day option and the next business day delivery. Again, the next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
Additionally, there are also limits on the amount you can transfer, for more information, please check out this link: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD (specifically Pg. 3, Section 1.16 for information on the payment methods and Amounts).
If the amount you are looking to transfer exceeds the limit available, you may wish to send an outgoing wire transfer. To initiate an Outgoing Domestic Wire Transfer, please visit a TD Store near you with the following information, which you can obtain from the other Financial Institution: you will need the name, address and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address and the account number. For hours and locations near you please take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Please note transfer fees may apply for External Transfer feature, Person-to-Person Payment feature and Wire Transfers, for our fee schedule follow this link: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. We would also recommend checking with JP Morgan Chase Bank to ensure no other additional information is required as well as to obtain information regarding any additional fees for their services. And please note that we do not process or disburse funds from wire transfers received designated Pay Upon Proper Identification (PUPID) and return them to the sender.
If you are looking to transfer from your TD Canada Trust account to a JP Morgan Chase account in Canada, you may wish to check out: http://bit.ly/1LzTtpS as our friend Marie answered a similar question that may help you.
We hope this helps and please let us know if you have any other questions.
