Welcome to TD Helps, Ydis!
This is a great question, and we'll be more than happy to help!
TD Bank currently offers a free person to person transfer service, which you can access right from your Online Banking, and can be used to transfer funds to anyone within the United States. This service to easy to use, and if you have never used it before, we'll be more than happy to walk you through the steps for your first time!
The first thing you'll want to do is log into your Online Banking, which you can do from here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. If you haven't yet enrolled in Online Banking, don’t worry! You can start the enrollment process by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. In order to complete this process, you will need your account number, debit card number, a valid email address, and your Social Security Number.
Once you're able to fully access your Online Banking, towards the top of your screen, you should see a tab that read 'Send Money'. If you have never used this service before, you may need to accept some terms and agreements, and after doing so, you will be brought directly to the Send Money feature.
To get started with your transfer, you'll need your payees email address, phone number, or even their account number. Should you wish to send funds directly to their account, please know that you would also need their routing number. Should you opt to send the funds to their email address, or via a text message, after you complete the transfer via your Online Banking, they will receive instructions on how they may proceed to have the funds transferred directly to their account.
If you haven't yet added this payee to your contacts, you can do so by clicking on the 'Add New Contact' towards the right side of your screen. Simply enter in their first and last name, and then select if you would like to send the funds to their phone, email address, or account number. After doing so, you will be prompted to enter in their information for whichever method you choose.
After saving this information, you will then be brought to the screen where you are able to select the amount you wish to send, and the delivery speed. Currently, for Instant Transfers, your payee will need to be registered with Zelle; however, they do not need to be registered for you to complete a 3-day transfer. Regardless of the delivery speed you choose, this service is still free.
After selecting the amount and the delivery speed of your transfer, simply confirm the account you wish to have this transfer be debited from, and then click 'Review'. This will bring you to a final screen, and after ensuring that all the information provided is correct, you will be able to send your transfer!
In the event that you run into any trouble, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a Tech Support Specialist directly at 800-493-7562. Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for your convenience, and will be more than happy to help.
Thanks again for stopping by today with your question, Ydis.
We hope you have an amazing weekend!
