We're so happy that you decided to come to TD Helps with your question, Alex.
Individuals under the age of 18 may open a joint checking or savings account with an adult by visiting any TD Bank Store. To find a nearby TD Bank location, please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores. We can instantly issue Visa debit cards in our Stores from Maine to Florida, which will immediately be active for purchases. A Visa debit card can be instantly issued to a minor as long as a verbal consent of an adult was given. Please be sure to bring a valid photo ID with you.
Alternatively, if the child is 13 years of age or older, they qualify for TD Bank Go Card. The TD Bank Go Card is a great way to help teens manage their funds and also for you to keep track of their spending. The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website: http://bit.ly/1wibSus. Please understand, as Savings accounts have ATM Only cards (no Visa logo) as you are unable to use this card to transfer funds into the account.
A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w. Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
If you are interested in getting a card for a teen, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue." You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add a teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
If you have a TD Checking or Money Market account and you are at least 18 years old, you can request a TD Visa Debit Card. To have a TD Debit card be mailed to you, there are a couple of options available to you. You can contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and after account verification, one of our Banking Specialists can order the debit card for you and the card will be mailed to your address on file.
Another way to request a TD Visa Debit Card via mail is by sending a secure message via your TD Online Banking. If you are already enrolled, you may send a secure message using www.tdbank.com. If you have not enrolled for Online Banking and you have a personal account with TD Bank, please click here to start the enrollment process: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security number, your email address and your current TD ATM/Debit card. If you run into any problems enrolling or do not have your debit card handy, please call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with our Banking Specialists.
After you've successfully enrolled, you can send a secured message by selecting the "Customer Service" tab under "Message Center" then click on the "Send a Message" link. For this particular request, please select "General Customer Service" for the subject line. In the "Comments/Requests" field, please type in your request. Please allow 7-10 business days for your card to arrive. It will arrive in a white envelope for security purposes.
Please note; if you are requesting a new TD Visa Debit card for your Small Business Checking or Money Market account, you will need to visit a TD Store location in person to obtain one.
Let us know if you have any additional questions. Have an amazing day!
