I am considering opening an account and would like to be able to transfer funds between my td account and my external account. Would Billpay work for this? is there a limit to how much can be payed? Does BillPay send a check or does it do a online transfer? Is it free?
Thank you very much for your time

Thanks for your question, Dave. We understand the importance of paying your bills on time and we appreciate you writing in today.
First, we'd like to thank you for considering TD for your banking needs! We encourage you to learn more about our accounts and products here: http://bit.ly/18IVtY0. We also encourage you to view and compare our other Checking accounts we currently offer by following this link: http://bit.ly/1s4rW4W or for a personalized recommendation click here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 which can help you choose the best checking account for your needs.
When making a bill payment through TD Bank Online Banking, you are prompted to select a date to be used as the delivery date of your payment. This date is when the Biller can expect to receive the payment through an electronic funds transfer. In some cases we are not able to complete an electronic funds transfer, so we print a check and mail it to your Biller; in this case the date you selected is used as the date that the check should be delivered. Any date that is in grey and cannot be selected, is a date that we cannot deliver on. By default all weekends and holidays will not be available for selection of delivery.
Typically, our Bill Pay feature would be used to make payments to a Biller that you owe money to. However, since you mention that you are looking to transfer money into another account that you have, we're glad to inform you that it can also be used for this as well. To send yourself a payment (that you could in turn deposit into another bank account that you may have), you would enter your name as the Biller/Payee of the Bill Pay, and use your own address when prompted. We would then mail a paper Bill Pay check to you which you could then use to deposit into any other bank account that you may have.
If you have any further questions about our Bill Pay services, feel free to write back or give us a call at 800-493-7562 to speak to an Online Banking Specialist, 24/7.
If you have any further questions about the available accounts that we have, please feel free to contact our 24/7 Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists would be more than happy to answer your questions.
Also, since we notice you're reaching out to us from Toronto Dave, please know that you're reached TD Bank here in the United States. To use our Bill Pay service, you must have a valid U.S. physical address, phone number, and email address on file with us. If you meant to contact our friends at TD Canada Trust, we found a conversation here that someone started and you may find it helpful: http://bit.ly/1D75GYG. Feel free to submit your own question for TDCT here too if you have any additional concerns.
Hope this helps. Have a great night!
