Thanks for joining us here at TD Helps, Cara. Although we would hate to see you close your account with us, we understand things may come up that may change your savings needs and would be happy to help.
You may close your account, free of charge, at any time as long as the account is at a zero balance.
If you have remaining funds in your TD Savings account, you may make a withdraw at any TD location or ATM machine (if you have an ATM card) to bring the balance to zero.
Once the balance is zero, to close it, you may visit any TD Store during lobby hours or call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000. If you'd prefer, you may send us a secured message via TD Bank Online Banking to request the account to be closed as well. In order to send a secured message you must first be enrolled in Online Banking and to start the process, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Keep in mind that you will need your account number, ATM/Visa Debit Card number and email address. Once enrolled, you may send a secured message by selecting "Send a secured message" located on the left hand side of the page, beneath "Message Center."
Please note that if you'd like to close a Business account, this must be completed at any TD Bank Store location.
We hope this is helpful, if you need any further assistance please let us know.
