Good morning, Derek and thanks for joining us today.
It sounds like you're considering TD Bank and we thank you for your interest. We have multiple account types and invite you to look: http://bit.ly/Wczmq0 for a list of Checking accounts and/or here: http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 for a listing of our Savings accounts. For a personalized recommendation for a Checking account you may look here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
Once you've decided on which account is best for you, you can open the account via the internet by clicking on the "Open Account" box which will be listed at the bottom of each account details. To get started, you'll need the following: Your Social Security number, One of the following: Driver's license, State ID, or Passport. To make a first deposit online, you may use a debit card linked to an account from another financial institution, a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or you can stop by your local TD Bank Store to make a deposit.
There are 5 steps with series of questions you will need to fill in during this account opening process. The first step is the "Account Info", you will need to input the account type you are looking to open and whether you want a TD Debit Card or not. The second step is your "Personal Info". This is where you authenticate your identity so you will need your Social Security number and your Driver's license, State ID, or Passport for this portion. Step three is the "Disclosures" where you will be requested to view and agree to. Step four is your "First Deposit". If you have a current account, whether it is with TD Bank or another institution, this is where you can transfer funds into the new account for the first deposit. Finally step five is the "Finish" portion. Review your information and submit your application.
You may also open your desired account by calling 888-751-9000 24/7 or stopping by your local TD Bank Store during lobby hours. For a listing of locations and hours, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We would like to take this opportunity to let you know you're welcome to visit a TD Store and we'll be more than happy to provide you with one of our instant issue TD Bank Visa Debit Cards if you do not wish to wait for it in the mail.
If you decide to open your account via Online and choose to have a TD Debit Card at that time, please allow 7-10 business days for delivery. If you decide to open it via telephone, please visit your local TD Bank Store at your convenience so you may complete the appropriate paperwork and have a TD Debit Card mailed or issued immediately. Please note, when the card is mailed to you, it will come in a plain white envelope for security purposes.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us here, over the phone or at a TD Bank Store.
Have a great day, Derek.
