Hello, Judy and welcome to TD Helps! We're glad to see you and are happy to review what happens when you deposit a check with us.
Usually, when a check is deposited with a Teller at TD Bank, the first $100 should be made available to your account immediately. The rest of the funds are typically credited to your account on the following business day.
If your deposit was made at TD Bank before 8:00 PM on a business day, it would be considered a deposit on that business day. A business day is every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays. For weekend deposits, this usually means that the deposit will be considered Monday's deposit and will post to your account on Tuesday.
Exceptions can also occur which can cause delays in funds availability. For example, if you are a new account holder and your account has not been open for 30 consecutive days, check deposits can be held for up to 7 business days for verification purposes. We invite you to look at our Personal Deposit Account Agreement here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ. On pages 38-41, you can find our Funds Availability Policy along with information about when you'll have access to deposits.
If you'd like to find out more about a deposit in particular that you made, feel free to call us. We're happy to help and we're available 24/7 at 888-751-9000, or stop in at your TD Bank Store. Find a listing of our Stores nearest you at http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Thanks again for visiting, Judy and we hope this helps you with access to your funds. Have a great evening!
