Thanks for submitting your question today!
Some checks have an expiration date (payroll checks, government checks, etc.), which limits or extends the time period when the checks can be cashed or deposited. When a check doesn't have an expiration date, it would be considered "stale dated" once it's six months old.
Please note that stale dated checks drawn on TD Bank may still be cashed after we verify the status of the account and check for a stop payment order. If a stop payment is not found, it is possible that the check may be presented for payment even if six months or more have passed.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or stop by any of the TD Store locations. To find a TD Store location near you, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Have a wonderful evening and take care.
