I recently ordered an item online and the item was not inside the package. I contacted the web site and they say they'll look into it and issue me a refund if they did find an issue with my order. Since I would like to keep my options open, I know I can issue a dispute with TD Bank should the seller fail to refund me. I want to know how long do I have to file a dispute.

Hi Steven! Great question.
We can generally file a Regulation E dispute for a debit card charge at any time; however we recommend filing within 60 days of the transaction. As it doesn't sound like you haven't reached that time frame yet, you may want to see if the merchant is able to resolve this directly first.
If they are unwilling to ship you the item you ordered or issue you a refund, we'd be happy to dispute the transaction and work on recovering funds from the merchant.
