Thanks for contacting TD Helps today, Claire. This is a great question, and we'll be happy to help.
Typically, a bank-to-bank transfer is made using the routing and account numbers (an ACH transaction), which usually take 2-3 business days to arrive. If the person initiating this transfer to you doesn't bank with TD at this time, we'd recommend that they contact their bank for specific information about the status of the transfer.
If they do bank with TD Bank, and have used our Popmoney service to transfer money to you, please note that depending on the delivery speed they choose, the funds would be available to you within 1-3 business days. Please note that if they used your email address or telephone number to send the funds, rather than your account number, you'll need to accept the transfer before the funds would be delivered to you. If they did make use of this feature and you haven't received an email message with instructions or any funds within 3 business days of when they initially sent the funds, we'd recommend that they check in with one of our Tech Support Specialists, 24/7, at 800-493-7562 for a status.
We hope this helped, Claire. Enjoy the rest of your day, and have a great weekend!
