how long does it take for an overdraft fee to hit the account if it hasn't been 24 hours since you overdrew from the account?

In the event that your account becomes overdrawn, overdraft fees are typically assessed on the following business day. At this time, business days are not considered weekends or holidays. For example, should you overdraw your account on a Saturday, the transactions would post to your account on Monday, and so you would receive any overdraft fees on Tuesday.
