Welcome and thank you for submitting your question on TD Helps, Tommy.
We are sorry to hear that you wish to close your Student Checking account with us. If there is anything we can help with so you may change your mind, please do let us know.
If you do wish to close your TD account and are able to visit a TD Store location, you may submit this request in person and your account can be closed within 2-3 business days.
If you're unable to close your account in person, you may request to close your account and have any available funds in your account be sent to you by check. Please mail a request with the following instructions:
▪Your name ▪Your account number(s) ▪Your request to close the account(s) ▪Your current address ▪Your signature
For your security, please have the letter notarized. It can then be mailed to:
TD Bank, N.A Your Home Store's Address Your Home Store telephone Number
If you are unsure of which Store is your Home Store (the Store location where your account was opened at), take a look at: http://bit.ly/TDStores for our Store locations. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 888-751-9000.
If your account is currently at a zero balance, you may also reach out to us at the same telephone number listed above; our Banking Specialists can submit a request to close your account via telephone after account verification. Or, if you are enrolled for online banking, you may send a secure message using www.tdbank.com. To send a secure message you must first logon to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq . On the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”.
Thanks again for banking with TD, Tommy. Have a great day!
