Good morning, Mo, and welcome!
You have a great question.
Here at TD Bank, there are a couple different ways in which you may credit funds to another TD Bank account holder, and we'll be happy to provide you with all your options so that you may choose the one that is most convenient for you!
First, we'd like to recommend taking advantage of our Send Money feature. It sounds as though you may already be aware of this service, but just in case, we'll gladly provide you with more information.
TD Bank's Send Money feature will allow for funds to be transferred to anyone in the United States, and in some instances, the funds may even be sent instantly. To take advantage of this great feature, you'll want to access your Personal Online Banking, and you can log in by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. If you haven't yet enrolled, that's okay, as you may use the link here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY to enroll. To successfully do so, you will need your account number, your debit card number, a valid email address, and your Social Security Number.
Once you've logged in, towards the top of your screen, you should see a 'Transfers' tab. By clicking on this tab, you'll be brought to TD Bank's transfer screen, and to use Send Money, you'll next want to select the 'Send Money' tab, which can be found towards the center of your screen.
You may need to add your payee, which can be done by clicking 'Add New Contact.' When using Send Money, you'll have the ability to send funds to their account number directly, or you may also use their phone number or email address. Should you decide to use their phone number or email, they'll receive a text message or email with the instructions on how they may proceed with having the funds credited to their account.
Once you have successfully added them to your contacts, make sure you are in the 'Send' section of this feature, and then select their name. From here, simply add your amount, followed by the delivery date and the account you would like the funds to be debited from, and after selecting 'Review', then 'Send', you're all set!
In addition to using our Send Money feature, if you are within TD Bank's footprint, you may also visit your nearest Store location to have the funds deposited directly into their account. If you have checks in your possession, you may endorse a check to be credited to their account, or you may simply withdraw the funds to then be deposited into your friends account.
We never like to recommend sharing sensitive information, such as account numbers, and if your friend is uncomfortable with providing you with this information, we understand. In the event that you'd still like to visit a TD Store location to have the funds credited to their account, please know that one of our knowledgeable Tellers will be more than happy to help you do so! During your visit, you may provide one of our Tellers with your friends name and some personal information, such as their address or date of birth, and they should be able to locate your friends account number for you.
Should you wish to visit a TD Store location to make this transaction, you're welcome to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest TD Store location.
As always, you would also have the ability provide your friend with a personal check, which they may then deposit at their own leisure.
We hope one of these options works for you, Mo, and please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns!
Take care, and have an amazing Thursday!
