So exciting to hear about your travel plans – we hope you'll have a great time in Korea!
To keep your trip running smoothly, we'll be glad to help with some information you can use while you're there.
First and foremost, we'd like to let you know that you'll want to contact us at least one week before your trip with your travel information, if you haven't done so already. You can do so by calling our Customer Service Line directly at 888-751-9000, and we will be happy to place your travel notification. This helps us recognize unauthorized activity on your account and keeps your card working as you expect while you're away.
Regarding your question, you'll be glad to know that TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card. At this point we would like to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs.
Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made. Please take a look at our current Fee Schedule right here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
Kindly note that this may be in addition to any fees assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and can include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. Please check out the link above for information about the types of accounts needed to avoid a non-TD ATM fee.
If you have one of these account types, we suggest keeping your foreign ATM transaction receipts. We want to make sure you are properly reimbursed for your fees! If your non-TD ATM fees are not automatically refunded to you, you can take these receipts to your local TD Bank store within 90 days for an immediate credit.
If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also be assessed international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pages 45-46) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
If you would like to use your TD Bank Visa Credit Card while traveling, please call 888-561-8861 to place your travel notification 24/7 with a TD Card Services Representative.
Finally, if we can be of any help to you during your trip please take note of these methods to contact us. You can send a message after logging in to your online account for help, by clicking on the Customer Service tab and finding the link to Send a Message. You can also contact us from outside the United States by phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518. We are available 24/7 for your convenience.
We hope this answers any banking questions at all that you might have for your trip, Daehee.
Feel free to write back with any other thoughts and we wish you safe travels! Have a great trip.
