Great question, CJ and thanks for thinking of us for a new account! We appreciate the interest and would be happy to discuss this.
You'll be glad to know that there is no minimum deposit amount necessary to open an account with TD Bank. We'd like to take a moment to remind you though that some accounts do have monthly maintenance fees, and ask that you maintain a minimum daily balance in order for those fees to be waived. We recommend looking into the different account options available to determine what product is best for you. Once you have found an account you like, you can click on the "View Account Guide" link which is listed below each account title. On that page, it will review in detail any minimum balance required once your account is open to avoid any maintenance fees.
To see what we have to offer, we encourage you to review our Checking accounts here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF, or use our Checking Selector at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. And just in case, our Savings products are listed here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT, or use our Savings Selector at http://bit.ly/1sxY9Rd.
You may use the Open Account button at the above links to begin your account application. If you'd prefer to open your account by phone, feel free to give us a call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with one of our dedicated Customer Service Representatives. They will be more than happy to help you establish your account by phone. Or, you're also welcome to stop in and open your new account in person. Please see http://bit.ly/TDStores to search for the convenient TD Bank Store locations near you.
Regardless of the method you choose, when opening the account you'll just need your Social Security number and a valid personal identification such as a Driver's license, State ID, or Passport.
Hope this answers your question, CJ! Great having you and we hope to hear from you soon!
