Hi Thomas thanks for writing in, we appreciate your interest in TD Bank!
We're happy to say that here at TD Bank, there is no set amount that you need to open an account nor you must keep in your account; however, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee.
We invite you to view and compare our personal Checking accounts which we currently offer by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that best fits you. To view and compare personal Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM;which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
Once you decide on the account type that best suits your needs, you can open the account via online, telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours. To open the account via online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can also open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank location near you. If you choose to visit a Store during lobby hours to set up your new account(s) you will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
We also understand changing banks can be challenging. We’ve developed this Easy Switch Checklist to help you navigate the process. Check out http://bit.ly/1nEm90e to see this easy-to-follow guide.
Have a wonderful day, Thomas and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
