Thanks for connecting with us on TD Helps, Jalene. We'd be happy to welcome you and your husband to the TD Family!
Generally speaking, there is no cost or set amount that you need to open a personal account with us. However, some personal accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. We invite you to visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd to view and compare our personal Checking accounts, or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you both.
To open an account you may do so online, by telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours once you decide on the account type that best suits your needs. To open the account via online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Banking Specialists at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you, if you choose to visit a Store.
In order to open a joint account, both you and your husband must visit a TD Bank store together. Please make sure both of you bring the following documents: a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military ID etc.) and your Social Security numbers.
If you are all unable to visit a TD Store together, you are able to open an individual account and add your husband later. To open an individual account, you're able to call us 24/7 by dialing the number mentioned above, by selecting "Open Account" beneath the product of your choosing or by visiting a TD Store during lobby hours.
We hope this helps, Jalene and have a great weekend!

Welcome back Jalene!
That's correct, for our personal accounts we don't require any specific amount to be deposited to get the account started. To open the account as a joint account, both of you will need to visit the Store together.
We're also happy to let you know that it's not necessary to have other accounts with us in order to apply for a loan. If you'd like to apply while you're there and you haven't done so already, you'll want to determine which type of loan best suits you. We invite you to visit: http://bit.ly/1f9XZWu for more information on the types of personal loans we have available. You can visit us at any of our Stores as mentioned above to begin both your account and loan applications!
If you would like, you can also get in touch with our Financial Solutions Group Specialists 24/7 about loan options by calling 800-937-5020. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and also help with the application process.
Hope this helps, Jalene!
We wish you both the best of luck and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

It's a pleasure to see you back, Jalene.
We'd like to point out that employment verification is not used in our deposit account opening process. However, if you are referring to a loan or credit card application, employment status may affect the application process.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist for deposit accounts, or at 800-937-5020 to speak with our Financial Solutions Group for any loan related questions. If you have questions regarding credit cards, please contact TD Card Services 24/7 at 888-561-8861.
Thanks for writing in, and take care Jalene.
