Here at TD Bank, we offer many different types of Personal and Business Checking accounts. Currently, there is no set amount that you need to open an account with us. However, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. Once you've made your selection of the account type, you can open the account via online, telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours. To open the account via online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Customer Service line at 888-751-9000 and one of our dedicated Banking Specialists can open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you, if you choose to visit a Store. You will need to bring a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number.
If you are a Non-US resident and do not have SSN at this present time, you will need to bring two forms of identification with you and stop by your local TD Bank store during our lobby hours to set up your new account. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
If you are a small business owner and would like to open a business account with us here at TD Bank, we also have business products with all the features you need to help you achieve your financial goals.
In order to open a business account, the account signer(s) must visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process along with the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. For a non-resident aliens opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business.
