Hi Estelle, thanks for joining us on TD Helps.
Generally speaking, there is no cost or set amount that you need to open a personal account with TD Bank. However, some personal accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. We invite you to visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd to view and compare our personal Checking accounts, or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that is the best fit for you.
To open an account you may do so online, by telephone or at any TD Bank location during lobby hours once you decide on the account type that best suits your needs. To open the account online, click on the "Open Account" button below the account you choose and fill in the required fields. You can open an account via telephone 24/7 by calling our Customer Service Line at 888-751-9000 and one of our Banking Specialists will be happy to open the account for you. Please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find TD Bank near you, if you choose to visit a Store.
If you own a small business and would like to open a business account with us here at TD Bank, we also have business products with all the features you need to help you achieve your financial goals.
In order to open a business account, the account signer(s) must visit a TD Bank Store and be present for the account opening process along with the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. For a non-resident aliens opening a business account, you will need two valid forms of ID and a W-8Ben must be completed during the account opening process. Also, be sure to bring the Tax Identification Number for your business.
We suggest reviewing the types of business accounts prior to visiting a Store. If you take a look here, http://bit.ly/1lWgAhe, the link shows the types of business Checking accounts that we offer as well as the minimum amount needed to open the account. Our web page can even make a selection based on your needs with the Business Checking Selector tool: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw. If you have any questions while reviewing these options, a Business Banking Specialist would be happy to assist you over the telephone. You can reach them by dialing 855-278-8988.
We hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions.
