I currently have a savings account and wanted to open a checking account as well. What is the age requirement to do so? Can I open one under a parents name?

Good morning, Garrett, and welcome to TD Helps!
It's great to hear that you're interested in opening a Checking account to go along with your Savings account, and we'll be more than happy to provide you with all the information you may need to do so!
Here at TD Bank, in order to open an account in just your name, you will need to be 18 years or older. In the event that you're under the age of 18, you're still welcome to open an account should an adult wish to accompany you to your nearest TD Store location to open a joint account.
Before your visit, we'd like to take an opportunity to go over the different types of Checking accounts available, and you're welcome to take a look at the link here: https://go.td.com/2eQORxu to do so. If you would prefer a personalized recommendation, you're welcome to check out our Selector Tool here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E.
When you're ready to visit your nearest TD Store location, as a friendly reminder, both you and your parent or guardian will need to provide a valid form of identification, such as Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc. and Social Security Number. If you are in fact a minor, acceptable forms of identification include: School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. You're also welcome to use the link here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR to find your nearest Store location, as well as their contact information.
If you have any questions or concerns before your visit, you're first welcome to call and speak with a Representative from your nearest TD Store location, or you may also call 1-888-751-9000 to speak with one of our knowledgeable Banking Specialist, 24/7.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, Garrett!
Take care, and happy New Year!
